About Us

Established in 1983 as EPD, Electrical Products Division of Custom Plastics, Custom Utility began extruding electrical materials for the utility industry. We serve the Utility, Transmission and Communication Industry with products for Line Construction and Maintenance and Overhead, Transmission and Underground Distribution. Our product line includes pole riser guards, adapter boots, guy markers and wildlife protectors. Our products meet or exceed all requirements specified in NEMA PH41 and are approved by the Rural Electrical Administration (REA).

Custom Utility is a division of Custom Plastics, Inc., a custom profile extruder and injection molder of thermoplastic materials. Our facility is located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, just outside of the City of Chicago, with 19 extrusion machines and 28 injection molding presses.

Our capabilities include prototype, production and full assembly, engineering support services, Pro/E, AUTOCAD, in-house die design and construction, co-extrusion (dual durometer), insert molding, finishing services, pad printing, drilling, notching, punching, ultrasonic welding and more!
