WHO WE ARE
Founded in 1983 as EPD — the Electrical Products Division of Custom Plastics — Custom Utility has been a trusted manufacturer of high-performance extruded electrical materials for over four decades. We proudly serve the utility, transmission, and communication industries with durable, precision-engineered products designed for line construction, maintenance, and both overhead and underground distribution. Our product line includes pole riser guards, adapter boots, guy markers, wildlife protectors, and more — all built to deliver reliability in the field.

As a division of Custom Plastics, Inc., a leading custom profile extruder and injection molder of thermoplastic materials, Custom Utility benefits from the innovation, expertise, and quality standards that have defined our parent company since its founding.

Operating from our state-of-the-art facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, just outside Chicago, we run 20 extrusion lines and 24 injection molding presses — enabling us to meet complex production demands with efficiency and precision.

Our comprehensive capabilities include prototype development, full-scale production and assembly, engineering support services, SolidWorks design, in-house die design and construction, co-extrusion (dual durometer), insert molding, finishing, pad printing, drilling, notching, punching, ultrasonic welding, and more.
